Frequently asked questions
Short answers about requirements, permissions, privacy, gestures and billing.
What are the requirements?
macOS 13.0 or later.
Why does Ammonite ask for Accessibility and Screen Recording?
Accessibility lets it read window titles and app information and switch windows. Screen Recording lets it draw the live window previews inside the spiral. When you run a macOS Shortcut, macOS additionally asks about Automation, the first time only. Everything happens on your Mac.
Is any of my data collected?
No. Ammonite contains no analytics, no telemetry and no network requests. Nothing about your windows, apps or Spaces leaves your Mac.
How do I bind the gestures?
In Settings, each combination — finger count (2–4) × starting side (up / right / down / left) × direction — can be bound to one action, or to nothing. The defaults are three fingers up for the window list, three fingers left for Spaces, three fingers down for the active app’s windows and three fingers right for app shortcuts.
Besides windows, what else can it switch?
Desktop Spaces, menu bar (tray) icons, the active app’s windows, the active app’s shortcuts and Services, and macOS Shortcuts. Tray icons and Shortcuts are unbound by default.
Will it conflict with Cmd-Tab or AltTab?
No. Ammonite is driven by multi-finger trackpad circles and never changes your system shortcuts, so it coexists with the system app switcher and keyboard-based switchers.
Which languages are supported?
Nine interface languages: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic. It follows your system language by default.
How do I get a refund?
All plans are one-time purchases — there is nothing to cancel. Paid purchases are not refundable; the 14-day trial is free and nothing is charged if you stop before buying.
